Partnership in Creating the First Custom Rug Tufting Center in Europe

The Current Situation on the Brussels Market

After analysing the current handmade tufting market, the following problems were identified:

• only 2–3 tufting schools currently operate in Brussels;
• they offer only basic skills with no room for development;
• there are no “hobby” or “professional” level programs;
• many organisers lack real experience in rug production.

The Solution: Opening the Rug Tufting Center

This Center will become a key point for the development of tufting in Europe. The training structure is based on my already developed system of levels: “Just for Fun!”, “Hobby”, and “Professional”.

As part of the partnership project, a professional space will be opened where these programs will take place offline — using high-quality materials, both amateur and professional equipment, as well as my personal expertise and training.

Additional Functions of the Center

• assisting clients in developing technical specifications for custom rugs;
• consultations on tufting technologies and modern rug design;
• placing custom orders with leading European rug-making factories;
• a showroom for selling finished rugs and materials;
• a fully equipped workshop for designers, artists, and creators of art installations.

Materials and Technical Base

The following have already been delivered to Brussels:

• a selection of rugs from the page ready-made rugs;
• a portion of wool yarn from the full stock of over 6,000 kg in more than 170 shades;
• tufting cloth, backing materials, and latex;
• a part of the amateur and professional equipment.

Suppliers have confirmed their readiness to continue delivering materials under the same favourable conditions.
