These rules are mandatory for all participants of the tufting workshop in Brussels. Compliance ensures safety, comfort, and efficient work.
1. General Requirements
Participation is allowed for individuals aged 14 and over. Before the workshop begins, each participant must attend a safety briefing and agrees to follow the instructor’s instructions throughout the entire event.
2. Personal Safety
Participants must wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing without loose or hanging elements. Long hair must be tied back. Participation in the workshop while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication that affects alertness is strictly prohibited. Eating and drinking in the working area are not allowed.
3. Use of Equipment
The tufting gun is an electromechanical tool and is considered equipment of increased hazard. It may be used only after proper instruction. It is strictly prohibited to point the tufting gun at people, touch moving parts during operation, turn the tool on or off with wet hands, or leave it switched on without supervision.
Cutting and trimming tools (scissors, carpet shearing machines) must be used strictly for their intended purpose. Passing tools while they are operating and making sudden movements near other participants are prohibited.
4. Working with Latex
Latex is used to secure the pile on the back of the rug. All latex-related work must be carried out in a well-ventilated area and with protective gloves. Contact of latex with skin, eyes, or respiratory tract must be avoided. In case of contact, the affected area must be rinsed immediately with water and the instructor must be informed.
5. Electrical Safety
All electrical equipment must be used only in proper working condition. The use of damaged cables, unplugging equipment by pulling the cord, and placing cables in walkways are prohibited. At the end of the session, all equipment must be disconnected from the power supply.
6. Emergency Situations
In the event of injury, equipment malfunction, or any hazardous situation, the participant must immediately stop working and notify the instructor. In case of an emergency, participants must follow staff instructions and the established evacuation plan.
7. Responsibility
Violation of these safety rules may result in removal from the workshop without compensation. Participation in the workshop constitutes full acceptance of these rules.
